Some of our favorite local restaurants in the Forest/Lynchburg area include Benjamins, Bräuburgers, Neighbor’s Place and Iron & Ale.

About 30 minutes from our venue, you will find the heart of downtown Lynchburg. Our Downtown boasts of restaurants, shops, and breweries. A few favorite restaurants in Downtown Lynchburg include Fratelli's, Waterstone, and RA Bistro. You can also find William & Henry inside the Virginian hotel and Shoemakers in the Craddock Terry Hotel.

Our area has plenty of accommodations nearby for you and your loved ones to comfortably stay while they travel for your wedding. Whether you get an airbnb in Bedford, rent a lakehouse at Smith Mountain Lake, or decide to stay at a hotel in the city of Lynchburg, there are plenty of lodging options for you and your guests. The two hotels recommended below are also great options for your rehearsal and/or rehearsal dinner!



The Virginian is a beautiful hotel in Downtown Lynchburg. This hotel conveniently has a rooftop bar and restaurant to host any celebratory meals before or after your wedding day. This hotel is within walking distance to many shops and restaurants. 


Another popular downtown hotel is the Craddock Terry. They are known for their fine dining and convenient location.

Evergreen Lavender is a small family owned lavender farm located in Appomattox County. Open seasonally each year when lavender is in bloom, you can enjoy fresh cut lavender, lavender ice cream, and lavender products in their shop.

Irvington Spring Farm

Irvington Spring Farm sells fresh-cut flowers and potted pollinator plants directly from their farm. Open 6 days a week, they allow people to come and explore their growing flower gardens.

Lynchburg Community Market

Located downtown, the Lynchburg Community Market is an open-air exchange where you can find some of the best and freshest produce in the region.

Liberty Mountain Snowflex Centre

Snowflex specializes in year-round mountain activities open to students, as well as the general public.

Blackwater Creek Trail

The Blackwater Creek Trail is one of the most popular trails in Lynchburg that features a 3-mile long paved trail which is perfect for jogging, walking, and biking.

Percival’s Island Natural Area

Percival’s Island is one of the most popular downtown spots to visit. It’s a great place for walking, running, or biking, surrounded by some amazing views along the James River.

Brook Hill Farm

Brook Hill Farm is a non-profit horse rescue organization, that provides rehabilitation focused services and safe haven for unwanted horses, as well as offers a therapeutic riding program for personal growth and equine education for the community.

Get Out of Town

Get out of town to explore the surrounding areas. Within an hour’s drive, you can find yourself on the Blue Ridge Parkway, at Natural Bridge State Park, the Peaks of Otter Lodge, Smith Mountain Lake and Wintergreen Resort.

River Ridge Mall is Lynchburg’s largest shopping attraction where you can enjoy an entire day shopping, dining, and various attractions like Seaquest and Bounce About. Downtown Lynchburg also boasts of many boutiques and local businesses.
